Primary Indications

It is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by the following susceptible strains:

Otitis media, lower respiratory tract infections (including pneumonia), upper respiratory tract infections (including pharyngitis and tonsillitis), urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis and cystitis), skin and skin tissue infections, sinusitis, gonococcal urethritis

It is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to cephalosporin antibiotics.
